For RNA-Seq, tendons were collected from donors who were 69.4 ± 7.3 years old (old group, n = 5, 3 female, 2 male) and donors who were 19 ± 5.8 years old (young group, n = 4, 4 male).
The incidence of UGIB was significantly lower in the young group than in the younger old and older old groups (differences were between the young and younger old groups and the young and older old groups).
The incidence of symptomatic UTI was significantly higher in the older old group than in the younger old and young groups (differences were between the young and older old groups and the younger old and older old groups; see Table 3).
However, there was no difference in UGIB incidence between the younger old and older old groups in our study, possibly because of the choice of cutoff points.

This study's main strength is that, as a result of the high remission rates during the open-label escitalopram phase, there were relatively large numbers of patients in both the young-old and old-old groups at the point of randomisation, giving the study satisfactory statistical power to detect differences in relapse rate and pattern between them.
For % female, age, and leg length in Table 1, a MANOVA and post hoc analyses revealed that both the young-old and old-old groups showed significantly larger number of females (sex, % female), much older age, and shorter leg length than those of the young group (p < 0.016 for all with Bonferroni correction).
