The connection of C-5 to C-9 by the oxygen atom and OH connected to C-10 were determined by the COSY correlations from H-7 to H-10 and HMBC correlations from H-7 to C-5, C-6, C-9, and H-10 to C-9.
The ion current was measured by a Keithley 6485 picoammeter (Keithley Instruments, Inc., Cleveland, OH) connected to a coaxial cable with the shield on the opposite end of the cable grounded to the vacuum chamber and an exposed "probe" section of wire positioned between the two parallel SLIM surfaces for a module composed of four sets of parallel linear segments.
At each step force, the I-V characteristics were measured by applying voltage from −0.5 to 0.5 V and the resulting current was recorded by a Keithley 2602 SourceMeter (Keithley Instruments Inc., Cleveland, OH, USA) connected to a host computer through GPIB/USB cable and coupled with the TCC.
The electro-mechanical characterizations were performed at room temperature with an apparatus composed by a Keithley 2635A sourcemeter (Keithley Instruments Inc., Cleveland, OH, USA) connected to a homemade sample holder and coupled with a universal mechanical testing machine (MTS QTest/10, Eden Prairie, MN, USA) with a load cell of 500 N, as shown in Figure 1.
