More than 500,000 arrests were for immigration offenses (18%), more than 500,000 for drug offenses (17%) and more than 400,00 for traffic violations (14%).
Indeed, "a limited number of sites, times, and situations constitute the space-time loci for the vast majority of offenses" (p540).
Rarer crimes in the county include drug violations (71 offenses between 2005 and 2007), sex offenses (64 offenses between 2005 and 2007) and arson, with only 12 offenses between 2005 and 2007.
