Inclusion of health education has the potential to reduce echinococcosis through increased compliance with dog dosing, a reduction in offal being fed to dogs and/or through improved hygiene, although education alone is unlikely to achieve the desired dosing frequency and decrease in coproELISA prevalence (Craig and Larrieu, 2006; Lembo et al., 2013).
