In the secondary spongiosa, a trend of structural impairment was observed, with 15%, 20 %, 21, and 4% decreands in vBMD, BV·TV−1, Tb.N, and Tb.Th, respectively, and a 29% increase in Tb.Sp in the SCI group compared to controls, but none of the changes reached statistical significance.
In contrast, park mutants showed no improvement of structural impairments when RetMEN2B was overexpressed (Fig 2H and M).
