So chapter 25 of the Laozi says, "Human beings follow earth, earth follows heaven, heaven follows dao, dao follows ziran", but chapter 64 speaks of "the ziran of the myriad things", and in chapter 17, the people speak of their own ziran.
"The Third Sex" maps a lost world not only of sex, but of the myriad things we modern folk once thought sex could be, and mean.
It seems likely that we would have considered Hui Shi's explanations of "the myriad things" to be of great interest.
