The Mark et al. [13] scale also has four parts rated as excellent/good/fair/poor based on the following items: loss of motion, loss of the carrying angle and pain/neurovascular lesion.
Administration involves initially asking two items (loss of interest; feeling upset, distressed or depressed).
Two other items (loss of appetite, weight loss) which produced a separate factor [ 24] were also excluded.

The somatic subscale consists of the other thirteen items: sadness, loss of pleasure, crying, agitation, loss of interest, indecisiveness, loss of energy, change in sleep patterns, irritability, change in appetite, concentration difficulties, tiredness and/or fatigue, and loss of interest in sex.
Future research should consider these issues and expect significant loss of items during the scale development process.
