The comparatively high FGM levels in non-consigned mares subsequent to disruption of their group stability indicate that the paradigm of increased abortion-risk in pregnant mares as a result of social stress should also include consideration of the susceptibility of mares in a group from which others have been removed.
The teen birth rate is down more than 60percentt since 1990, and that's not because of increasing abortions, because they've fallen by more than a third.
