Of course, apes and monkeys are highly intelligent, use or even make tools, have high levels of communication abilities, can build political alliances, show empathy to strangers, nurture kin, and otherwise exhibit extraordinary levels of social and intellectual behaviors, and in many ways are worthy of admiration.
