Contig E in B. nigra showed the highest relative incidence of gene insertion or transposition with concomitant absence of conserved gene content, with one region, between At4g17380 and At4g17480, being disrupted by the presence of six genes from unrelated regions of the A. thaliana genome.
We suggest that these differences, given that the islands are highly variable, might be due to the non-conserved content of the island.
Notably, the U content of conserved pre-miRNAs was higher than the A, G, or C content, while the non-conserved pre-miRNAs had more G and C nucleotides, implying an importance of U nucleotide in pre-miRNA evolutionary history.
Notably, the U content of conserved pre-miRNA was higher than A, G, and C. The average U content in overall conserved pre-miRNAs was 29.4% while the average A content was 23.4%.
More generally, all sequenced H. pylori genomes seem similar in their content of conserved and strain-specific genes (Fig. 5).

Additional features, such as the presence of conserved functional domains, GC content, and the free energy of RNA secondary structure, are needed to improve the detection accuracy of ncRNAs [ 12, 23, 24].
The plastid genome of ArM0029B lacking a large IR is close to C. variabilis NC64A: both species displayed the same content of conserved genes and almost the same gene order.
