Different properties of aforementioned designed concrete mixes such as workability, 7, 28 and 90 days compressive strength, spilt tensile and flexural strength, modulus of elasticity, non-destructive parameters (rebound number and ultrasonic pulse velocity), water absorption, density, volume of voids has been determined.
We also examined whether this association varied as a function of the aforementioned design characteristics to examine potential causes of inconsistency in this body of evidence.
The developed model is also used to find the sensitivity of the aforementioned design parameters on the effective diffusivity.
In fact, an alarmingly large number of modern structures have suffered intense damage leading to partial or total failure in recent earthquakes [e.g., 2– 3] signaling the need to rethink the effectiveness of the aforementioned design practice.
