We introduce the "sectoral configuration" of a TIS, which relates to the number and types of sectors linked via a TIS's value chain, and elaborate how the sectoral configuration plays out for a TIS's functional dynamics.
In fact, with an alignment of N-terminal sequences (21 amino acids, 100% identity), this has been implemented as a part of a TIS annotation pipeline previously developed for any genome, namely ProTISA [ 22].
It develops an analytical framework which allows investigating innovation processes (or 'functions') of a TIS at and across different spatial scales.
We address this gap by exploring the style of two crucial policy-making processes and how it influences the functioning and performance of a TIS, taking the case of offshore wind in Germany.
This pressure can result in stagnation and unrealized development potential or spur sectoral complementarities and the evolution of a TIS into a larger "development block" of interlinked technological systems.
More specifically, a functional evaluation method of a TIS presented by Bergek et al. [6] is used.
