Indeed, phylogeographical studies of amphi-boreal taxa have so far demonstrated a variety of inter-oceanic systematic affinities and more complex isolation/dispersal histories such as repeated trans-Arctic invasions, both in fishes (e.g. [ 3, 4]) and invertebrates [ 5, 6].
Systematic high quality oceanic in-situ precipitation measurements are requested on an international science level and are essential for improved understanding and validation of hydrological processes in satellite, re-analysis and model data.
Strain LMG 23254 was isolated from an enrichment of sea water in media containing polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) as part of a study examining PHB degrading enzymes [28]; its was not recovered as part of systematic study of oceanic microbial diversity.
