While some OWS supporters have argued that the black bloc should be heard, too, most of the occupiers have expressed anger and disappointment at the group for muddying the Occupy message.
On Monday the occupiers posted another message on the Web, suggesting that they would surface again in some form.
What ground should occupiers occupy?
Early on, Lasn and White said that the Wall Street occupiers needed a clear message.
"I was really proud of the Occupiers who stood on message, stood on discipline and stood on faith," she added.
Before the debate began, a student read a message from the "occupiers" who have taken over a nearby lecture theatre in protest at the government cuts.
