First (i) endoscopic biopsy performed at the time of brush cytology (n=20), (ii) percutaneous biopsy (n=9) or (iii) EUS-FNA (n=1) performed on a separate occasion was obtained in 30/44 patients with eventual diagnoses of malignant strictures and was positive for cancer in 13/30 (43%).
