Lawyers for both tenants and landlord say that the amount of profit the landlord can reap from a vacant apartment is the main factor that influences the amount an owner would be willing to pay to buy out a tenant; other factors would be time, location, the owner's resources and the availability of court and administrative proceedings to obtain a vacancy.
