Daily time of use and number of uses are simple metrics obtainable from SUMs data through a number of methods.
In the present study, if a participant was unable to respond to an item due to any sensory deficits (e.g., visual/hearing loss, paralysis of limbs), an extrapolated score was computed by multiplying the obtained score by 30, and dividing by the maximum obtainable score (the possible sum score for all the items that the participant attempted) [ 53].
This is the nearest total value obtainable by the study.
