Taken together, these results indicate that IntI1 can bind to attI1 in a double-stranded form and to attC in its single-stranded form, with a bottom strand specificity as previously observed using other recombinant integrases [16].
A similar increase in the quantity of pilus proteins within the Alab49 rofA::aad9 construct was also observed using antiserum directed to recombinant pilus proteins FctA and FctB (Figure S1).
