Overall, 82 376 cases per year were observed, summing up to a national bill of $1.06 billion.
The partition homogeneity test showed that the actual summed tree length was 8 steps shorter than the shortest observed summed tree length in the artificially created dataset (p < 0.001, Fig. 2).
Previous work has demonstrated that breast cancer cells over express XBP1 [ 38, 39], while we observed that SUM-44, SUM-52 and SUM-225 cell lines over expressed total and activated XBP1 (Additional file 1: Figure S 3 Additional file 2: Table S 1).
The considerable heritability estimates observed for sum-scores reflect the concerted effect of all genetic effects on all individual items that are summed: not only the additive effects that are shared by all items, but also genetic effects that are specific to only one or a few of these items, dominance effects, epigenetic effects, epistatis, and effects of complete genetic pathways.
As it can be observed, the sum throughput increases with the number of active users in the system.
Indeed, both effects were observed when summing up rare alleles as it has been described for other interactions among pigmentation genes [24], [45].
A significant effect of arrangement and sex by arrangement interaction are expected to occur rarely if all arrangements are transmitted according to Mendelian expectations, but they should be common if each arrangement is transmitted at the frequency observed when summing across replicates (Table 3).
