Under these circumstances, we have not observed appreciable blinking of the EGFP molecules, and photobleaching was minimized.
Instead, the data show that the short-latency changes in SC firing observed during blinking are caused by trigeminal reflex mechanisms, and that these changes precede changes in eye velocity by about 20 ms. In addition, we found that that the changes in firing rates were unrelated to the blink-induced curvature in the eye-movement trajectories (Goossens and Van Opstal, 2006; see Fig. 3).
Additional studies observed increased eye blinking, less complex eye movements, and modifications in pupil diameter with reduced transient responses to task events and enhanced baseline levels during mind wandering.
In other words, the standard effects observed in attentional blink paradigms were reproduced in the present experiment.
Note, that no telegraph function or triplet blinking is observed during this acquisition.
For CdSe-OPV nanostructures greater than 13 nm in diameter, light was emitted all of the time, using a 1 s integration, and most of the time using 100 ms. At 100 ms integration times, however, blinking was observed in the smaller nanostructures.
