The esterification between acids and alcohols having different chain lengths was initially investigated, observing a conversion decrement parallel to the increase of the linear chain length of alcohol.
We observe a conversion rate from optic neuritis to multiple sclerosis based on the 2010 McDonald criteria of 45% and to clinically definite multiple sclerosis of 16% at 2 years, which is slightly lower than reported elsewhere.
