Three times in recent weeks large companies have learned this the hard way, severing ties with rappers they had previously happily paid to endorse their products: Reebok dropped Rick Ross over objectionable lyrics, and PepsiCo's Mountain Dew did the same to Lil Wayne, just days after it had cut short an ad campaign it had worked on with Tyler, the Creator.
The research led the author, Carla E. Stokes, to form HotGirls (Helping Our Teen Girls in Real Life Situations), an Atlanta-based nonprofit group that holds workshops where girls talk about music, rewrite objectionable lyrics and even record their own music.
We love how, stylistically, anything goes in Korea… but unfortunately, the song was banned on Korean airwaves for the objectionable lyrics (but not the Playboy bunnies, interestingly enough).
During the 1980s, the Parents Music Resource Center petitioned the U.S. Congress to regulate the popular music industry due to what the group asserted were objectionable lyrics, particularly those in heavy metal songs.

Many find the song's lyrics and its music video morally objectionable, and it does not help that Mr. Thicke, with his aviators and swaggering demeanor, seems to be borrowing from another act: the old "Saturday Night Live" skit "The Roxbury Guys".
