"There have been a number of fare wars so far this summer, but at one point the airlines are going to call each other up, which is something they shouldn't do, and say 'What are we, crazy?' and fares are going to go back up again," says trend analyst Arnold Brown of Weiner, Edrich, Brown in New York.
