Confocal microscopy transversal cuts 50% deep in the acini were used for nuclei count, finding significant differences between CagA positive H. pylori strains and mock infected acini and 3(b)).
Together with results from previous FISH experiments that reveal IGF2 is located outside of its chromosome territory in the majority of nuclei [ 30], our findings suggest that complex regulation of IGF2 and H19 may involve interactions with multiple distal regions simultaneously.
Surprisingly, besides finding Olig2+ nuclei co-expressing NG2 and PDGFRα, many other Olig2+ nuclei did not express either cell surface marker, which suggests that Olig2+ cells might have differentiated to the oligodendroglial lineage and silenced the expression of NG2 and/or PDGFRα.
Our results are therefore in line with these findings where polar nuclei fusion is affected as a consequence of defects in mitochondrial function.
Aberrant nuclei refer to nuclei with abnormal morphology, such as fragmented nuclei or nuclei with irregular shapes.
Although the function of this molecule in nuclei needs to be examined, this finding raises a possibility that CXCR4 might have other unknown roles in cancer cells.
Other evidence includes the finding that anterior thalamic nuclei lesions impair item-place associations that involve distal location information, but not item-context associations that involve local information (Dumont et al., 2010, 2014; Gibb et al., 2006; Sziklas & Petrides, 1999).
These two studies may help to explain our finding that there are more nuclei with strong pMAPK signal in γ KCs (VT44966) compared with α'/β' KCs (VT57244) (Fig. 2C).
This is in agreement with a previous study which highlighted the lack of correlation between discriminatory ability (or acuity) and relative OB size in 5 species of passerines [29] but in contrast to findings from the passerine song control nuclei, where seasonal changes in the volume are linked to differences in the song output [9].
Interestingly, BAG3 was shown to localize in nuclei of cells infected by some viruses; those findings suggest an involvement of BAG3 in viral expression and/or replication, and indeed some reports indicate a requirement for BAG3 for virus gene expression and/or viral progeny production.
