Existence of residual contaminating foreign metals, unreduced metal ions, chemicals or other agents (from the precursor material used for nanomaterials synthesis) may actually be responsible for noxious actions rather than the actual nanomaterials itself and the quantity of contaminating materials are fully dependent upon the synthesis method used.
It also allowed us to ascertain how tactile object properties (is the object noxious or neutral?), action properties (does the action involve tactile contact?), and the overall appropriateness of action to the object are encoded in the brain.
