New governor Mark Carney responded with an announcement that Jane Austen would appear on future notes and he also launched a review of the selection process for such characters "to ensure that our notes represent the full diversity of British people".
Titled "A Song of Our Warming Planet," the composition maps out statistical data from 1880 to 2012, with each note representing one year and and the pitch of the notes representing the year's surface temperature.
