In Brazil the Normative Ruling Number 09, promulgated on 8 April 2009 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Cattle Raising and Supply, established criteria and procedures for the implementation of L. monocytogenes Control Procedures in ready-to-eat products of animal origin in order to monitor and ensure the safety of these products.
