Detailed review at 20 months revealed a normal head circumference, height and weight, although the head circumference was on the 2 9th centile compared to height and weight on the 50th centile, possibly indicating mild relative microcephaly.
The result was that going from a high to normal waist circumference was associated with almost the identical reduction in mortality risk as going from inactive to moderately active.
In addition, we did not find significant differences in predicting diabetes in subjects with normal waist circumference.
On the other hand, young overweight male patients had a normal waist circumference in 59.4% (female 30.4%).
PTX3 was also lower in ACS subjects with high than in those with normal waist circumference (WC).
Most normal-weight patients had a normal waist circumference (83.5% of male and 73.0% of female patients) with a decline in the elderly (60.2% male, 42.5% female).
In contrast, the individual with a PPP2R5B mutation had a normal head circumference but was very tall with a height three standard deviations above the mean (Table 1).
Similarly, when subjects were divided into two groups with high or normal waist circumference according to ATP III classification (Males: WC > 102 cm, Females: WC > 88 cm), PTX3 was lower in high- than in normal-waist circumference individuals in both ACS (Normal WC: 8.7 ± 1.1, High WC: 5.6 ± 0.24 nmol/ml, P = 0.046) and non-ACS group (Normal WC: 3.3 ± 0.14, High WC: 2.6 ± 0.1 nmol/ml, P = 0.03).
Among the abdominal obese subjects, 45.6% had 1 or more adenoma, and 9.0% of these had advanced adenoma, whereas among subjects with a normal waist circumference, only 25.7% had 1 or more adenomas.
In women in whom all ultrasound examinations showed a normal abdominal circumference, the probability was 88.9%, and probability increased to 92.2% in the absence of maternal risk factors for neonatal macrosomia (Table 3).
