It's a phenomenon that led to the coining of the term nominative determinism by New Scientist's feedback editor, John Hoyland.
The term nominative determinism describes how certain people seem compelled towards a particular profession because of the influence of their surname.

When I researched the predicate nominative, I found out that this term describes how we often use a subject form instead of an object form after a verb of being like "is". The term "predicate" refers to the fact that it's in the latter part of the sentence and "nominative" is related to the nominative case, which essentially means a subject.
But an administrative assistant, one of those stunningly competent workers who hold whole entire companies together but never get proper credit or compensation, threw a term at me: predicate nominative.
Nominative use occurs when use of a term is necessary for purposes of identifying another producer's product, not the user's own product.
The nominal and pronominal declension had seven cases: nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, ablative, instrumental, and locative.
You might also want to learn some grammatical terms, since they are mentioned in some grammar books ('singular nominative'pluralrablativeivetcetc).
Fair enough, being blasted too soon with 'nominative, dative and accusative,' terms you don't even use in English, is likely to be off-putting.
