He needed to say it -- and needs to continue saying it -- over and over and over again.
"I've always supported the great working relationship between the Sheriff's Department and federal law enforcement agencies, and it needs to continue," said Supervisor Dianne Jacob, adding that she intends to support the county joining the lawsuit.
"The report is a critical reminder how the voters of the state of California have played a crucial role in beginning to uplift public education," a role that needs to continue, said Juan A. Flecha, president of the union that represents district administrators, after reviewing the findings.
The current impasse is over Obama's immigration actions, and most Republicans are standing firm against voting for anything that allows the policies to continue, saying they need to stop the president's unconstitutional overreach.
"If you like, I do not need to continue," he said evenly.
"In the worst-case scenario, it has meant that soldiers have to be dispatched to Iraq to secure the resources we need to continue," she said.
"What is holding minority students back is not a lack of interest in science but rather the fact that educational disadvantages are cumulative in nature, so that failures or low performance early on in school make it difficult for them to attain the prerequisites they need to continue," she says.
Even if the second allocation doesn't come, the street project will need to continue, Zurn said.
"People are starting to see it like drunk driving, and that's the comparison we need to continue to make," said Steve Farley, an Arizona state representative from Tucson.
"There are two reasons I feel a need to continue working," he said.
