In several studies, it has been shown that HIV positive women receiving intermittent preventive treatment in pregnancy (IPTp) need additional doses of drugs in order to be protected [28], [29], [30], further reflecting the need for increased knowledge of antibody dynamics.
This might reflect either the overall permeability of the inhibitor or the need for additional dosing to obtain a maximal effect.
