However, the haplotypes are identical to the ones found in the nearest localities, San Lucas (Gulf South) and San Bruno (Gulf North), suggesting a recent colonization of Santa Rosalia.
These indicators point to freshest conditions near Locality 43 of Hay (1976; HWK-East; Leakey, 1971), moderate conditions to the east (Locality 40-MCK), and high salinity and alkalinity to the west (Localities 85-VEK, 45-FLK).
The two geothermal boreholes far from Calimanesti Town, located near the localities Caciulata and Cozia (Fig. 1), are used for the local needs of a group of hotels and spa treatment units, for heating, domestic hot water and thermal pools.
Only areas near type localities of six of the originally described subspecies (waterbergensis, calarius, siccatus, auricornis, alborarius and avarillus; Figure 1) from northern Namibia, western Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, were not sampled (Additional file 6).
Several of the parviglumis individuals sampled by Ross-Ibarra et al. (2009) are from localities very near to Ahuacatitlan, likely contributing to these authors' inference of continuous gene flow between mexicana and parviglumis.
Similarly, the AHe age of 5.2 ± 0.9 Ma obtained for A02-ST13 might reflect partial resetting due to reheating because the Myojin-iwa andesite at ~3 Ma (Kondo et al. 2000) is distributed near the locality.
Furthermore, when and how the asexual populations of S. mediterranea originated is also of considerable interest because no conspecific sexual individuals live in the same localities, the nearest populations being found in Sardinia and Corsica.
Zone 3 is mainly demarcated as residential areas of Cis-Gomati, constitutes the Chowk, Thakurganj, Rajajipuram, and localities near Hardoi Road.
Most of these have been carried out at Ballantrae Research Station or in localities near Palmerston North (Figure 1).
The localities near Kanpur road, LDA colony, Alambagh, Hindnagar, Sarojini nagar, and Telibagh exists in this zone.
