Using examples from written and unwritten narratives of Hausa – one of the widely spoken languages in sub-Saharan Africa, this study shines light on some key narratives relevant to present day critical environmental issues such as management of agricultural landscapes, municipal waste, ecosystem services, integrated natural resource management, and biodiversity loss.
The reason these articles, and their accompanying counterpoints, matter to contemporary poetry-reviewing is that they illuminate (or, in the case of Schulman and The Atlantic, obscure) important narratives relevant to literary criticism in America.
But sometimes at home, Labour seems to lack a similarly compelling narrative, relevant to the new economic times, backed by policies which connect with people's lives.
Using an experimental design, in this pilot study, we examine Dutch preschoolers' (age 2 5, n = 78) haptic use (how much and when they use hotspots), verbal responding (i.e., narrative relevant and irrelevant comments), attention, and story comprehension when hotspots are either activated or turned off.
