"my assent" is not correct and usable in written English, as it is not a phrase typically used in written language.
You could use the phrase "my consent" instead, which means the same thing. For example: "I gave my consent for the family trip to the beach."
"I cannot possibly give my assent," the senator wrote to Mr. Salazar.

Reason 'obliges,' rather than causally compels, my will to assent.
