Similarly, the GTG3A GR mutant, which contains three mutations within the DBD, preferentially recognizes a thyroid hormone response element rather than GREs, yet is capable of repressing NF-κB-driven transcription27.
One of the mutant viruses, which contained four mutations in HA (N154D, N220K, Q222L and T315I), was able to transmit more efficiently via the droplet route between ferrets.
To confirm direct interaction between miR-420 and su var)3 9, a mutant miR-420 which contained base mutations in its seed region was generated (designated miR-420m, Fig. 6A).

To do this, we isolated two additional TF promoters (IDs: 1412 and 1457), which contained mutations in the YY1 motifs within a CpG island, and cloned them into luciferase reporter constructs.
