Consistent with this idea, we observed a reduction of a sign of DNA damage, dead stem cells, after impairing the function of BRM in the rpt5a mutant under normal B conditions (Fig. 7c).
Among the 128 down-regulated genes in the σE mutant, 43 genes were also down-regulated in the mutant under normal growth conditions.
