The latter 6 tumours commonly showed a mutant pattern (diffuse or null) in p53 immunohistochemistry, and 4 of the 6 tumours assessable for TP53 sequence analysis revealed mutations.
Their activation was HCL-dependant and either detectable or absent in the lin mutant (Pattern A3 and A4 respectively).
In contrast, wild type and the parR mutant exhibited different patterns in the expression of the rhlI and pqsA genes.
However at highest dose tested, 3-MT still caused significant behavioral activation in TAAR1 mutants and similar, albeit somewhat reduced in mutants, pattern of abnormal movements was observed in both genotypes after 36 µg of 3-MT (Figure 3; visual observations).
Similarly, we found that dac and pros are also widely misexpressed in the nervous system of ph or Psc-Su z 2 Psc-Su z 2ryos, but their expression patterns in Sce mutant embryos are indistinguishabut from their in wild-typexpression(Fig. 3).
However, transcript levels of five key sex-determining genes cannot explain this fitness recovery: there are clear expression differences between wild-type and ancestral mutant worms, but expression patterns in evolved populations are overall much more similar to ancestral mutant worms than to wild-type worms (Chandler et al. 2012).
Importantly, a similar situation was observed in the 3MC-fibrosarcomas generated in Atm-null mice, where the majority (14/18 = 78%) also had a "p53-mutant" pattern, including those generated in a p53-super context (Table 1 and Fig. 5A).
Rather, T1 transitions fail to orient as effectively with the PD axis in the dumpy ov1 mutant wing (see shear patterns in Figure 5 figure supplement 1B B′′).
In other cases, the closely related homologs did not share similar expression patterns in mutant vs. wild type anthers (Additional file 8).
We have previously shown that the experimentally described interactions between Fibroblast growth factor (FGF 10, Sonic hedgehog (SHH) and Patched (Ptc) can give rise to a Turing mechanism that not only reproduces the experimentally observed wildtype branching pattern but also, in part counterintuitive, patterns in mutant mice.
