Strikingly, the disulfide Cys-GSH also increased more than tenfold in both mutant and control animals exposed to the combination of paraquat and galactose (P<0.0001), and again the levels in mutants were significantly lower than those seen in controls (P<0.0001; Fig. 5D).
First, mutant animals exhibit sensitivity to gamma irradiation.
