PMnR and rPCRt lesions did not affect neck muscle twitch frequency but significantly decreased masseter twitch frequency (PMnR: 0.77±0.32 twitches/s of total REM sleep, n = 5, p = 0.03 and rPCRt: 0.64±0.25 twitches/s of total REM sleep, n = 8, p = 0.002 vs 2.23±0.38 twitches/s of total REM sleep in control, n = 10, Fig. 5).
In skeletal muscle, the frequency of the MERRF mutation was approximately 80% (Fig. 3b), which is consistent with the threshold mutational load sufficient to cause a biochemical defect in oxidative phosphorylation13.
However, after 10WR the distribution of white muscle fiber frequency in diameter classes changed in fish from F1, F2, and F3 treatments, showing higher numbers of big fibers in classes 50 and 60 compared to classes 10 and 30.
The fibers were binned into classes according to their diameter (d, µm): class 10 = d < 10, class 30 = 10 > d < 30, class 50 = 30 > d < 50 and class 60 = d ≥ 50, and white muscle fibers frequency in different diameter classes was determined.
Fernandez de las Penas et al. showed a significant negative association in migraine and chronic TTH between PPT of trapezius muscle and frequency of headache, whereas other studies [6, 19 21, 23, 27, 29, 30] did not find a significant association (Table 2).
Prior to spinal cord lesions, the EMG activity of the ED23 muscle contained frequency components over a broad range (Fig. 5Ab) and that of the ADP had some small peaks at specific frequencies (Fig. 5Ac) of the power spectra, but there was no peak for coherence above the β frequency (Fig. 5Ad, e).
The stimuli regulating these pathways are related to muscle activity (frequency and firing pattern of action potentials, intracellular calcium), mechanical loading, growth factors, vitamins, binding factors and cytokines and factors associated with cellular energy and oxygen levels, such as hypoxia, redox potential and AMP ATP ratio.

Results: Trunk muscles' median frequency signals decreased and their total power increased as contraction time increased.
Our findings provide the first evidence that CaMKII isoforms serve as muscle and frequency-specific sensors of muscle excitation.
