The most consistent changes that have been reproduced in several independent experiments is massive down-regulation of genes involved in muscle contraction, including the components of myofiber, enzymes of energy metabolism and regulators of calcium homeostasis.
Piper (22) showed at the beginning of this century (1912) that during a sustained muscle contraction the spectral components of the surface myoelectric signal are compressed towards the lower frequencies.
In support of this hypothesis, we recently reported that the increase in protein deposition in the fast muscle of swimming rainbow trout [ 22] was associated with the transcriptional activation of a large set of genes involved in protein biosynthesis and in muscle contraction and development, including components of the sarcomeric structure of skeletal muscle [ 23].
Nonetheless, the G56R found in one of the CHDWB participants is particularly interesting, since the mutation occurs in a myosin head-like domain, a key component for muscle contraction, and with a large degree of amino acid change (Grantham score = 125).
To examine the relationship between hamstring extensibility by use of the instrumented straight leg raise; mechanical components of muscle contraction, including muscle recruitment, passive torque measures of tissue stiffness, and eccentric strength; and self-reported measures of pain and disability.
Elimination of these vibration components of muscle contraction with action of C60FAS (regardless of the therapeutic administration method) is a very important feature of its protective effect (Fig. 3).
Participants performed five strength exercises that emphasized the eccentric component of the muscle contraction in order to induce DOMS.
The exercise program intends to restore a normal segmental spinal muscle contraction strategy which is an essential component of locomotor functional stability.
