The associations between the proportions of FOXP3+CD25high, CTLA-4+CD25+, CD45RO+, HLA-DR+, CCR4+ or α4β7+ cells within the CD4+ T cell population, and cytokine production (X-variables), and clinical diagnosis of allergy or sensitization (Y-variables) were investigated in multivariate factor analyses (SIMCA software, version 13.0; Umetrics, Umeå, Sweden).
