Because the number of events in each subgroup could not accommodate all baseline characteristics into multivariate models as explanatory variables, we chose those variables that were significant in the multivariate Cox model in the total cohort (i.e., CCr [ P < 0.001], UP [ P < 0.001], and serum P level [ P < 0.001]) as well as Mg group.
