In this study, despite the fact that no latitudinal gradient was found in terms of the univariate estimator of taxon richness, a clear latitudinal pattern was found for the multivariate aspect of taxonomic composition of intertidal rocky shores assemblages (Fig. 3).
However, very few studies deal simultaneously with both multivariate and regional aspects.
Multivariograms can be used to summarise time variations in multiple analytes and highlight the multivariate time autocorrelation aspects of these analytes.
SEM is a multivariate technique combining aspects of multiple regression and factor analysis and thus testing underlying factors and hypotheses simultaneously in the same analysis [ 76, 78].
