At the time of the operation, thyroid ultrasonography (US) revealed multiple hypoechoic nodules.

A thyroid ultrasound showed multiple hypoechoic nodules in both thyroid lobes.
Typical ultrasound (US) findings of abdominal TB include retroperitoneal and mesenteric lymphadenopathy with node diameter greater than 1.5 cm, multiple splenic hypoechoic nodules between 0.5 and 1 cm, and patterns of ascites [6].
Ultrasound features of thyroid metastases include [ 52]: –homogeneous, hypoechoic mass (Fig. 15 ) –well-defined margins –predominantly in the lower pole –heterogeneous echopattern when the gland is diffusely involved –multiple, hypoechoic solid, thyroid nodules –chaotic intranodular vascularity.

At the time of diagnosis, these patients showed an unusual echographic pattern characterized by multiple iso-hypoechoic nodules associated with splenomegaly.
Laboratory tests showed hyperferritinemia (2330 ng/mL), increased transaminases (aspartate aminotransferase [AST], 172 U/L; alanine aminotransferase [ALT], 185 U/L), hypertriglyceridemia (299 mg/dL), elevated sIL2R (1899 UI/mL), and splenomegaly with multiple iso-hypoechoic nodules.
These patients had splenomegaly and an echographic pattern characterized by widespread echostructural alteration of the spleen and the presence of multiple iso-hypoechoic nodules, mostly smaller than 1 cm.
Routine abdominal ultrasound exam (on Fig. 1a and b) shows multiple, small, randomly distributed, hypoechoic nodules in the liver parenchyma.
Bauones et al. have recently reported a case of incidental finding of multiple hypoechoic and nonvascular splenic nodules that were associated with a significant retraction of the overlying splenic capsule; splenomegaly was not found and no other organ involvement was documented.
