The likelihood-based confidence intervals were calculated for multiple confidence levels (14) to investigate the coverage.
No adjustment of P values for multiple testing or multiple confidence intervals was made.
The development of method-specific and method-independent measures for interaction confidence measures is an ongoing research topic, and thus the confidenceList allows the provision of multiple confidence measures for an interaction, usually based on different methods.
These issues include: case reports, study design, specificity of exposure, interview or recall bias, misclassification of occupation or exposure, confounding multiple exposures, confidence intervals and statistical power, selection of relevant studies, consistency of study results, study cohort definition, cohort membership misclassification, dilution effect, and subcohort or stratified analysis.
Mikitova and Levine took the latter approach and computationally identified multiple high-confidence FFAT-like proteins, based on the degree of variation that is tolerated by FFAT motifs in a yeast reporter assay [ 41].
Despite seemingly clear and unique in-gel MW differences for proteins in the 26 and 28 kDa bands as well as those proteins in the 40, 42, 44, and 46 kDa bands, multiple high-confidence protein matches were found for each analyzed band.
Average correct performance on the final cued-recall test, based on a total of 20 items (10 items from each passage), for participants in the standard multiple-choice, standard multiple-choice plus confidence judgment, and confidence-weighted multiple-choice conditions, respectively, was 6.54 (SD = 2.14) items (32.7 %), 6.41 (SD = 2.85) items (32.1%%), and 8.11 (SD = 2.34) items (40.6 %) (Fig. 4).
