Multiple access broadcast scheme which finishes communication in two time slots is considered.
A 3-phase protocol, which is called Cooperative Multiple Access Broadcast (CoMABC) and consists of phases 1, 2, and 4 of Fig. 1, is proposed in [38].
Multi-user channel models have also been studied with energy harvesting including the multiple access, broadcast, relay, and interference channels [12-21] [12-21]
fThe protocol names are due to [19, 20], which are the only two articles among references [14 20] that do not only consider the multiple access broadcast (MABC) protocol.
In particular, it includes the 2-phase multiple access broadcast protocol (MABC: consisting of phases 3, 4), the 3-phase time division broadcast protocol (TDBC: 1, 2, 4), and the 4-phase hybrid broadcast protocol (HBC: 1, 2, 3, 4) used in [14 20], for example f.

Generally speaking, a TWR network, where two sources deliver data to each other through a relay node as shown in Fig. 1, can apply an amplify-and-forward (AF) or a decode-and-forward or a denoise-and-forward [10], or a compress-and-forward [11] protocol while employing either the time division broadcast or the multiple-access broadcast (MABC) policy [12].
We consider an uplink (reverse link) scenario but the results can be generalized to a downlink (forward link) scenario in a straightforward manner using the multiple-access broadcast duality of the Gaussian channel [16] and the fact that scheduling decisions decouple in the many-user limit.
The basic protocol for the TWRC, which consists of two phases (phase 1 and 2 of Fig. 1), is Multiple Access and Broadcast (MABC) protocol.
Batch mode multicast MAC (BMMM) [9], broadcast support multiple access [10] and broadcast medium window (BMW) [11] protocols represent an alternative approach, according to which all recipients are requested to send ACKs.
A two-way relay transmission typically consists of two stages: multiple access stage and broadcast stage.
Examples are the multiple access channel, the broadcast channel, the two-way channel, the three-node relay channel and the two-user interference channel [5 13].
