Fresh frozen plasma (FFP) was administered in patients who underwent invasive procedures, such as inserting of central venous catheter, and in all patients with moderate, or in some with continuous, mucous bleeding.
There were five patients (15%) who presented with either mucous bleeding and/or bleeding from the insertion site of the central venous catheters already before the start of 13 (21%) MARS treatments.
All other bleeding events requiring two or less units of packed red blood cells, such as diffuse mucous bleeding, bleeding on the sites of central venous catheters, or gastrointestinal bleeding from the nasogastric tube, as well as blood product usage, were documented.
Bleeding as an oozing from venepunctures or cannula sites along with petechiae and ecchymosis and mucous membrane bleeding occur [ 4].

The nurses (ICU or wards) should be experienced in the care of oral and maxillofacial surgery patients [15] because the nasotracheal tube can become obstructed easily from bleeding and mucous secretion and sometimes the patients have maxillomandibular fixation.
