For all cause mortality and heart disease mortality, the log-mortality models fit the data much better than the absolute mortality models.
We tested this hypothesis in a formal age-period-cohort analysis which shows that a model allowing for a period effect is much better in explaining the mortality trend data than a model allowing for a birth-cohort effect.
Not only are mortalities much better documented and measurable than wisdom, they are also best suited for computer simulations through population dynamics.
