The algorithm is tested against two simulated datasets and a set of MT data acquired in the Clare Basin (County Clare, Ireland).
Nevertheless, the rapid radiation at the origin of Neogastropoda may not allow full resolution of this phylogeny based only on mt data, and in parallel more nuclear sequence data will also need to be incorporated into the phylogenetic analyses.
The present investigation also discovered substantial amounts of mt data present in EST and GSS data sets for H. contortus, suggesting that databases available for other species will provide a useful resource for the mining of data to assist in the annotation, assembly and analyses of mt genome sequence data.
The present study demonstrates the utility of 454 technology for the rapid determination of mt genome sequences from tiny amounts of DNA and reveals a wealth of mt genomic data in current databases available for mining.
The mt-genome data in this study may be too limited to resolve the phylogeny of Cimicomorpha, and more mt-genomes of the additional taxa of Cimicomorpha need to be sequenced because increased taxon sampling could greatly reduce the phylogenetic error [ 42], or possibly the monophyly of Cimicomorpha needs to be revised.
We utilized a 3-D magnetotelluric (MT) inversion code, WSINV3DMT, to obtain a realistic resistivity model using a long period MT data set collected in the Northwest Sabalan geothermal field in Ardabil, Iran.
Two additional areas, Area C and Area D, are in the Pacific basin off the Bonin Trench (the representative crustal age is ~147 Ma) and off the Japan Trench (~135 Ma), respectively (locations shown in Fig. 1), where seafloor MT data were collected in past experiments (Baba et al. 2010, 2013b).
In this study, we propose an approximate treatment of topography (ATT) for seafloor MT data for use in practical inversions of 3-D conductivity structures beneath the seafloor.
