Several left-wing Labour MSPs, including John McAllion, MSP for Dundee East, have made it plain that they disagree with plenty of Labour policy, such as the use of private finance for building hospitals and schools.
One head has already rolled: Charlie Gordon, a Labour Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) from Glasgow, who solicited Mr Green's donation, has resigned as the party's transport spokesman.

A local Tory MSP, John Lamont, has questioned its cost and compared its construction to "the trams debacle" in Edinburgh when, in 2014, a new tram system opened three years behind schedule and more than two times over budget.
"A new generation is in charge," he told the party gathering in Glasgow, echoing the words of MSP Kezia Dugdale, who was announced as the new deputy leader.
Meanwhile, Sturgeon, the MSP for nearby Glasgow Southside, visited Glasgow royal infirmary, where seven of the survivors were being treated.
The Glasgow Pollok MSP has represented her constituency since 1999, taking over as leader in December 2011 after the party's bruising defeat by the SNP in the Scottish parliament elections that year.
